New Core i7 975 could be out in June
Intel is looking to add some more Core i7 love out there around the time Computex starts.
If the launch date is accurate we should see the new Core i7 975 XE hit the stores in June. The new Nehalem CPU runs at 3.33 GHz, which is only slightly faster than the i7 965 but the 975 has already been pushed to 5 GHz on air cooling by a pair of crazed overclockers.
This means the new i7 is being released not to compete with the AMD Phenom II (as there is no competition) on a clock for clock basis but to put an very overclockable CPU on the shelves for the enthusiast that must have the fastest just shy of liquid nitrogen cooling.

It seems that Google is once again in the sites of the Federal Trade Commission in the US. This time the FTC is eying the very cozy relationship Google has with Apple.
Google CEO Eric Schmidt sits on the board over at Apple and this is causing some unrest. It all centers around the issue with Google's mobile OD Android and the fact that Apple has its own Mobile OS for the iPhone.
There are some other interesting ties that hint at an unfair partnership.

DDRdrive X1 SSD hits 300,000 IOPs
If you have been around the computer scene for any length of time you might remember one of the first SSDs out. It was a product that used DDR RAM and ran through a normal SATA port.
DDRdrive LLC, has decided to revisit some of that older technology, but this time instead of using the SATA port they are using a PCI-e X1 connection and they are also using a combination of NAND and DDR Memory.
The new product, called DDRdrive X1 can hit an amazing 300,000+ IOPs and seems perfect for I/O intensive tasks. It is not the greatest performer in read/write speed though; as it can only hit a peak of 250 MB/s read and 150MB/s in writes.

Intel's Lynnfield To Be Useless The First Month
New information from the rumor mill says that Intel will be bringing Lynnfield CPU's to the market up to a full month before the matching, and required, chipset becomes available.
Why Intel would do this makes little sense to anyone, as the new processors will be worthless without the P55 chipset. Intel would surely have some good reasing behind doing such, as half of a platform does Intel no good at all.

Up until now, all of the Radeon HD 4770's have utilized ATI's cheaper reference cooler for the Radeon HD 4770. XFX will now be the first to shoot for the more expensive premium cooler.
