AMD recently launched the Radeon RX 9060 non-XT graphics card; however, the fifth RDNA 4 GPU to hit the scene has arrived without a retail release. Instead of being marketed as an off-the-shelf entry-level 1080p gaming GPU, it's currently being sold exclusively as an OEM device for prebuilt systems.

Which is why South Korean creator Technosaurus (very cool name by the way) decided to buy one of these Radeon RX 9060-powered desktop rigs, remove the GPU, and compare the performance to the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB, the GeForce RTX 5050, and the GeForce RTX 5060.
The RTX 5050 comparison, which is NVIDIA's mainstream RTX Blackwell GPU, is the most interesting as we see the Radeon RX 9060, on average, beating the entry-level RTX GPU by around 20%. This is a decent lead, and the sort of performance you'll be able to notice when gaming at 1080p.

However, when it comes to the Radeon RX 9060 XT and the GeForce RTX 5060, there's not a lot of performance separating these three graphics cards. The RTX 5060 is only 2% faster than the Radeon RX 9060, while the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB is only 6.2% faster. These results were captured by benchmarking performance in 10 titles, including God of War, Monster Hunter: Wilds, PUBG, Black Myth: Wukong, The Witcher 3, and Forza Horizon 5.
The good news is that the Radeon RX 9060 performs similarly with multiple CPUs, so it doesn't need to be paired with a Ryzen X3D chip. The review also adds that as it's a cutdown and more efficient version of the XT model, it's not the sort of card that will deliver improved performance with overclocking. The Radeon RX 9060, as an RDNA 4 GPU, benefits from the new AI-powered FSR 4 as well as the improvements to ray-tracing performance. However, like the RTX 5050 and RTX 5060, the 8GB of VRAM limitation does mean that it won't age as well as the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB graphics card, which wasn't featured in this review.
We would love to see AMD release the Radeon RX 9060 as a standalone GPU for around $200 to $240, which would make it a great entry-level option for PC gamers. Check out the full review below.
