This year's Call of Duty has been revealed as Modern Warfare 4, and is set to launch this October on current-gen consoles--even the Nintendo Switch 2. Infinity Ward promises that MW4's campaign is a "return to form," and that it will be "darker and more dangerous than ever before."

MW4's campaign will take players all over the world with car chases through Paris, as well as missions in New York and even Mumbai. There's also reports that the campaign will be playable offline, unlike last year's Black Ops 7, which had a widely unpopular forced online campaign. Story-wise, it will feature Captain Price, Valeria, and Shadow Company, as well as Private Park's new team of South Korean soldiers.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 releases October 23, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Pre-orders are up now, and there are two editions, the base game for $70, and the Vault Edition for $100. The game will not be releasing onto Xbox Game Pass.

Check below for more info on the campaign:

Fight as Private Park, a young South Korean soldier facing live combat for the first time alongside his squad. What begins as a routine patrol descends into chaos when North Korea launches a full-scale invasion, forcing Park and his unit into a desperate fight through collapsing cities and counteroffensives. The Campaign drops players into the chaos, pressure, and split-second intensity of ground-level combat.

A nightmare scenario unfolds as overzealous leaders, shadow operations, and outside interference push the conflict toward the brink of global catastrophe. From large-scale battles and covert missions to combined-arms warfare and cinematic set pieces, the Modern Warfare 4 Campaign delivers gritty combat and gameplay variety across a war that spreads far beyond the front lines.

Play through new perspectives as the squad of South Korean grunts faces war against their will amidst a full-scale invasion. Operator turned outlaw, John Price is forced to face the consequences of his actions.

Experience visceral close-quarters combat, big war amphibious invasions, high-octane car chases, and more.
