LG has just unveiled a 32-inch color E Ink display aimed at the commercial signage market, featuring webOS, Wi-Fi, and ultra-low power consumption.

The device, which recently won a 2026 Red Dot Design Award, is built for retail, hospitality, and other environments where energy efficiency and visibility are key.
LG explains in its press release that the new display features a resolution of 2560 x 1440 (QHD), a 16:9 aspect ratio, and, most importantly, leverages color electronic ink (E Ink) to eliminate the need for a backlight.
The inclusion of this technology allows the screen to draw power only when refreshing content, meaning static images consume almost no energy. LG says the display can be powered by a 72Wh battery and even supports a detachable magnetic battery pack for easy deployment without hardwired power.
On the software side, the display runs a business-optimized version of webOS with built-in Wi-Fi, and businesses can manage content remotely via LG's SuperSign CMS, allowing them to upload whatever content they want to display, all from a separate device such as a smartphone. Manual updates via USB are also supported. The unit is set to launch in South Korea in June 2026, with U.S. and European availability in July.
LG's foray into E Ink signage with the LG E-Paper Display exemplifies a growing trend toward low-power, high-impact digital displays for commercial use. With this new offering, the company is pushing the boundaries of energy-efficient signage design and building on previous commercial display offerings, such as the $60,000 transparent LG TV unveiled at CES 2025.
