TL;DR: At Computex 2026, AK Mod showcased a unique Cyberpunk 2077-themed ROG Xbox Ally X, featuring layered spray paints, weathering, and custom decals with a neon yellow finish. The mod includes a prosthetic stand modeled after Johnny Silverhand's cybernetic arm, symbolizing resistance and power.

There are almost endless cool things on the showroom floor at Computex 2026, but one that caught my eye immediately was a mod done by master craftsman AK Mod of a ROG Xbox Ally X.

AK Mod is a legendary figure in the PC case modding and building community and a rockstar in the scene in Taipei, where he lives. AK Mod is renowned for his meticulous attention to detail and his cyberware/sci-fi-inspired design aesthetics. Those talents have now been pointed at an ROG Xbox Ally X, which AK Mod took and transformed into an awesome, one-of-a-kind Cyberpunk 2077-themed handheld.

AK Mod combined layered spray paints, weathering techniques, and custom water decals to completely transform a typical ROG Xbox Ally X into an eye-catching artistic piece of functioning gaming tech. The device features a bold yellow neon finish that wraps around the entire handheld. However, the core of the mod isn't the device itself, but what holds it.

Johnny Silverhand's cybernetic arm has been brought to life as a prosthetic that embodies almost everything the character stands for in-game: resistance against government/general tyranny, raw power, and a union of man and machine. The ROG Xbox Ally is grasped by Silverhand's chrome hand and acts as a stand for the device. This is truly next-level craftsmanship that any Cyberpunk 2077 fan would be ecstatic to own. Incredible work here, AK Mod!

"One glance tells you this ROG Xbox Ally X didn't roll off a factory line. Master craftsman AK Mod combined layered spray paints, specialized weathering techniques, and custom water decals to make both the device and its pedestal feel like they were pulled straight out of Night City. Sand and salt were applied in targeted areas to produce organic wear, making the final product feel natural, imperfect, and definitely dystopian. (We have to imagine Johnny Silverhand would approve.)

Every scratch, scuff, and trace of patina was intentional. The bold yellow neon finish wrapping the ROG Xbox Ally X will feel instantly familiar to anyone who's cruised Night City after dark, while subtle nods to Johnny Silverhand's guitar are worked into the base for fans paying close attention," writes ASUS
