ASRock is one of AMD's key Radeon gaming partners, so much so that our flagship review of the new Radeon RX 9070 GRE was released this week, focused on the company's impressive all-new dark Steel Legend design. A rare 2026 gaming GPU release, as the focus gradually shifts to the next generation of Radeon graphics powered by RDNA 5.

Although the current market is pretty bad for consumers, with seemingly all capacity going to building AI factories and data centers, RDNA 5 is still on the horizon and should debut. Current rumors point to a mid-2027 release, with the design for AMD's next-gen graphics architecture reportedly in its final stages. Of course, the 2027 window is due to the current DRAM crisis, with previous reports indicating that RDNA 5 could have been ready by the end of this year.
With that in mind, it's not outside the realm of possibility that companies like ASRock are already developing and finalizing GPU designs, cooling, and specs for the next generation of Radeon graphics cards. And with that, relatively hidden in ASRock's booth at Computex 2026, behind a highly reflective tempered glass panel, we spotted a next-generation Radeon GPU design for its Phantom Gaming series.

Regarding the GPU, we were told it was a next-gen design currently being tested, and that the model we saw featured the RDNA 4 flagship Radeon RX 9070 XT. However, we were also informed that there was no current plan to release the card and that it was simply a next-generation Phantom Gaming design with a new look, feel, and cooling, currently in the testing or prototype stage. One interesting thing to note is that it's powered by the new 12V-2x6 power connector, which ASRock has only used in its flagship Taichi series for the RDNA 4 generation.
So, it's either a new Phantom Gaming Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU design with no current release plan, a design that might not end up coming to market at all, or an early look at a new design that ASRock could bring to market when RDNA 5 and the Radeon RX 10000 Series make their debut sometime next year.
