TL;DR: Microsoft will keep two new games, Gears of War E-Day and Clockwork Revolution, exclusive to Xbox and Windows, while other Xbox Game Studios titles will be evaluated individually for exclusivity.

The recent Xbox showcase really underlines Microsoft's clear-cut attempts to cater to its enthusiast fanbase. The event saw the highly-anticipated return of exclusive games at Xbox, with Gears of War E-Day and Clockwork Revolution confirmed as Xbox platform exclusives (they're coming to both console & PC). But what about other games? Selecting exclusives among Xbox Game Studios titles will be made on a case-by-case basis, leadership says.

In a recent interview with Gamertag Radio, Xbox's chief content officer Matt Booty says that live games will stay multi-platform, but other games have a chance at being Xbox platform exclusive. And if it's got a date, it's got a platform, the exec says.

"We want people to have a reason to get onboard with Xbox, to buy an Xbox, a reason to be an Xbox fan. At the same time, we want to reward all our players that have been with us a long time. We know that exclusives are important, that's why we've got Gears coming in 2026, Clockwork coming in 2027.

"We want to be clear: Our big live service games are going to continue to be multi-platform. If we've promised something to players already, we're going to make good on that promise.

"And then, we're going to make the right decision, not the fast decision. We're going to keep thinking about this going forward, and I think you know as well anyone that when we announce a date, we want to announce the platforms.

"So it's case-by-case. But we want to be clear: If it's got a date, it's got a platform, and you'll know what the choices are."

No other Xbox console exclusives have been announced outside of these two titles, and it remains unclear what other exclusive content and/or features that Microsoft could offer in the future.
