It's been over 7 years since Bethesda revealed The Elder Scrolls VI, but it might not be much longer until the game is ready for a full-on reveal.

Xbox management has seen The Elder Scrolls VI in action, and the game is apparently progressing well. In a recent interview with Variety, Microsoft's gaming chief content officer Matt Booty says that Todd Howard is currently playing the hugely anticipated RPG and that it looks simply fantastic.
"So I can tell you, having visited Bethesda and sat with Todd and seen 'Elder Scrolls' playing, it looks amazing, and it's coming along well," the Xbox CCO said.
OkFdqqyI8y4He goes on to say that Bethesda will do a big info blowout on TESVI when things are in the right spot. "We'll make sure to announce it and really reveal it at the right time."
Not much has been said about The Elder Scrolls VI for months now, but we do know that the game will be built in a new iteration of the Creation Engine.
"We've spent the last several years bringing Creation Engine 2, which powers Starfield, up to Creation Engine 3, which is going to power Elder Scrolls 6 and beyond," Howard said back in February of this year.
Howard also promised that the new Elder Scrolls would retain that "classic style" the franchise is known for, possibly hinting at a more dedicated return to Bethesda's core RPG mechanics.
"As we come back to Elder Scrolls 6 [which] we are doing now, we are coming back to that classic style that we've missed, that we know really, really well."
The Elder Scrolls VI remains one of the most important projects in Xbox history, and it will be interesting to see if Microsoft attempts to take the new chapter exclusive as part of its new Xbox console exclusive strategy. However, given the possibility of antitrust allegations, this doesn't seem likely.
