Amazon has tripled its NVIDIA GPU order in just five months. What started as a commitment to deploy one million NVIDIA AI GPUs across AWS infrastructure at GTC in March has now grown to three million.
Amazon is adding another two million chips covering Blackwell Ultra, Rubin, and Rubin Ultra architectures. Deliveries will begin in Q3 this year and continue through 2028. Neither company disclosed financial terms, but the deal is likely worth tens of billions of dollars at current GPU prices.

NVIDIA said the expansion was driven by demand that has outpaced the original forecast. Startups, enterprises, AI labs, and governments have all been buying more compute than expected. Of the three million GPUs, 100,000 will be used in dedicated AI factories for US government workloads. These facilities will serve workloads with Impact Level 6 security classifications.
Amazon will also bring NVIDIA's Vera CPUs to AWS, with some deployed as standalone processors and others paired with Rubin GPUs. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has described Vera as a new $200 billion addressable market for the company. Amazon Robotics will also adopt NVIDIA's full physical AI stack. That includes Omniverse, Cosmos, Isaac, and Jetson. On the enterprise side, NVIDIA's Nemotron open models will also be available through Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker.
