Crimson Desert's developer has revealed that it's going to improve the story of the open world action-adventure, and that a DLC is in the works and coming along nicely.
Pearl Abyss wrote a dev update (flagged by Wccftech) in which it shared news of the updates for the game that'll be rolled out from June through September.
The main point of interest is story improvements based on feedback from Crimson Desert players, with the dev noting that it's going to "further strengthen the narrative flow of Kliff's journey and to make it more engaging". This will involve "working to refine and improve the coherence of key scenes" among other measures.

As for the DLC, Pearl Abyss is apparently hard at work on this project which is billed as a "meaningful addition" to the game, hinting that it'll be paid-for content. The developer isn't yet at the stage where it can share any details about the expansion, though.
What else can Crimson Desert addicts expect? New combat content is coming - although there are no specifics as to what exactly - and you can expect gameplay tweaks outside of fighting, too, for the likes of trading and farming.
Pearl Abyss is also bringing in cross-platform saves for PC and consoles, which is something that I found very handy with Baldur's Gate 3 when switching from playing the PC version to PS5 (the controller works great with the RPG, incidentally).
Another important point to note is that: "Changes are planned for Re-Blockade. A new phase is being developed to make the flow before and after a blockade more natural, along with ways to defend certain strongholds from the threat of invasion. Rewards will also be improved to make the process of liberating strongholds feel more rewarding."
It's good to see that Pearl Abyss isn't letting up with the pace of issuing updates and improving this open world epic. The work on the plotline will definitely be welcome, and more news on that DLC should hopefully be coming soon.
